Important: Please review the distribution schedules below to ensure you meet the applicable sign up and repertoire submission deadlines.
DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULES
The following distribution schedules set out the applicable deadlines for performers and makers to sign up and submit their repertoire in order to receive Canadian equitable remuneration royalties (“royalties”) for the relevant royalty years. Entitlement to royalties will also depend on additional factors such as whether the sound recordings you performed on or made received airplay and meet the eligibility criteria under the Copyright Act.
The sign up deadline is the deadline for a performer or maker to sign up with one of the following of Re:Sound’s member collectives: ACTRA RACS or Artisti (representing performers) and SOPROQ (representing makers), or by signing up with Re:Sound directly. If you are already signed up to receive Canadian equitable remuneration royalties, then you have met the sign up requirement and just need to submit your repertoire as explained below.
You must be signed up by the applicable deadline in order to receive any royalties to which you may be entitled, for the relevant royalty years as set out in the schedule. For example, in order to receive royalties collected for 2018, makers must be signed up by September 1, 2022 and performers must be signed up by September 1, 2024. In order to receive maker royalties collected for 1998-2008, makers must be signed up by September 1, 2019. In order to receive performer royalties for 1998-2000, performers must be signed up by September 1, 2020. Additional deadlines apply as set out in the schedule below.
SUBMIT YOUR REPERTOIRE
In order to receive any royalties to which you may be entitled as soon as possible, ensure that your repertoire information is always up to date and complete. Members of ACTRA RACS or Artisti and SOPROQ must submit repertoire to their collective. Members of CONNECT and Re:Sound direct assignors must submit their repertoire directly to Re:Sound. You must have submitted your complete repertoire information no later than the deadlines set out in the applicable schedule in order to receive royalties for the relevant royalty years. For example, makers must submit their repertoire by September 1, 2019 to receive royalties for 1998-2008) and performers must submit their repertoire by September 1, 2020 to receive royalties for 1998-2000. Additional deadlines apply as set out in the schedule below.

Recordings that appear in broadcast or user logs provided to Re:Sound appear in our database. If you find a track that you have performed on or a track that you own and you have not already received royalties for that recording, there may be royalties for you provided that the recording is eligible and other criteria are met. Even if your track does not appear in the database, you could still be entitled to royalties, so ensure that you sign up with one of the following of Re:Sound’s member collectives: ACTRA RACS or Artisti (representing performers) and SOPROQ (representing makers), or with Re:Sound directly, and submit your repertoire.
