Re:Sound applauds the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Copyright Board of Canada for undertaking a consultation on options for reform to the Copyright Board.
As a stakeholder before the Board representing performing artists and record labels who depend on the royalties established by the Board for their livelihood, Re:Sound looks forward to participating in the consultation process to assist in providing input on legislative and regulatory reforms “that could better position the Board to fulfill its critical purpose efficiently and effectively in an evolving economic and cultural context.”
